Mayan Law punishments
The Mayan laws started at around 250 AD. They started to have leaders and they started to develop laws. The Mayan laws were very strict, which resulted to a peaceful civilization. These were some of the main punishments for breaking the Mayan laws.
DEATH
The most common punishment for breaking laws in the Mayan civilization is death. Which was most commonly done by dropping the person from a cliff. They also used ropes to strangle the person. Another way that they used to kill people was to drop hard objects on their heads or necks, such as rocks or logs on their so it brakes their neck bone, or to break their skull. Each way to kill them will instantly kill someone.
SMALL CRIMES
One of the punishments for commiting a small crime in the Mayan civilization is cutting the person's hair short. The Mayans considered it as a sign of disgrace. The Mayan government did that so they recognize that he/she did something wrong, so they can go hard on them and make them pay extra taxes instead of killing him/her, to give to the army so they can make it stronger, which can protect the people from the enemy.
SLAVERY
Slavery is also one of the common punishments for crime in the Mayan civilization. There were two options to chose from for the government, which were to keep them as a slave for a certain amount of time, or to keep them for the rest of their life. If they commit a slightly worse crime than a small crime, they will have to be a slave for a certain amount of time. If you commit a crime that is against one of the important laws, they will sell you so be can be a slave for the rest or their life. Unfortunately, that did not happen that often, because if they break a definite or an important law, they would be dropped off a cliff, or any other punishment to kill them.

SELL ALL OF THE CRIMINAL'S POSSESSIONS AT AN AUCTION
Another punishment for the Mayans was getting all of your possessions taken away to be sold at an auction. This punishment was a very serious one. If you had this as your punishment, it would mean that you have done something very bad. It might even have been an order from the king even though you didn't break the law. The king was very powerful and he could do whatever he wanted. The king might be an unfair person, but the people had to live with the unfair conditions of the king until the king dies. As you can see, the Mayans had very strict laws and sometimes had unfair conditions because of the king.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the laws were executed very strictly, which resulted in a very peaceful civilization. No one messed around with the Mayan laws simply because the punishments were very strict and if you broke the law in Maya,it might cost you your life.
